The guqin has been in existence for over 3,000 years, with a rich repertoire that has survived through the millennia. The ancient instrument enjoys a high social status in history, and was played by respected individuals such as Confucius, Eastern Han Dynasty noblewoman Cai Wenji, Three Kingdoms Period writer and poet Ji Kang, and Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi.
Join renowned guqin soloist Gong Yi as he shares on the art and evolution of the guqin, and how its recent revival has allowed modern listeners to appreciate the guqin’s inherent elegance and the nobility of its sound.
